Famous last words.
And the trip ended. We went to Laholm by train, saw my dad and a friend of him, loaded our bikes onto the van and at 16:00 we left Laholm by car. With an average of I’d say 90 km/h we went home and arrived at 5am in the morning…
The Big Thanks go to…
First I want to thank all the couchsurfers who:
- Made us stay at their place.
- Helped us find our way.
- Shared their precious booze resulting in 2 drunk Dutch bicycle dudes.
- Shared so much fun with us!
Roxanna for being ready, and updating the website.
My dad for picking us up and driving a madly 1100 km on one day, till 5 in the morning.
Our parents, family and friends for support in the way of comments, messages and running servants with energy drinks.
Victor for bringing back some stuff we didn’t need to Holland, and providing us with a second tent.
Everyone else who I should thank but forgot!
Posting updates on the trip-wise this is it. Thanks you all and I really hope you enjoyed reading this. Hope I can upload some photo’s today and/or tomorrow to spice things up!

The last hours in Sweden.
Well all good things have an ending too, and ours is about to come. Around 1 pm we will be heading to the trainstation, saying goodbye to Josefin and the rest of the beautiful city of Goteburg.
We had a great time, and in about 2 days we will be back in good ol’ Dutchieland!
So, bye bye, when I’m back I’m going to post the pictures!
- Steven and Joost.
Dying Dino.
Okay we’re still at Josefin’s place since we really like it here. The plans for tonight are a bit vague but we’ll be at the Dancing Dingo, that’s for sure. Even though we confuse the name with dying dino all the time!
On Tues day we’ll be off to Kopenhagn by public transport and there we will meet my dad and a friend who have a big van. We’ll be going home by car.
Why? Simply time. We could have done a fast run but instead we wanted a more relaxed super detour in Danmark. Enjoy Danmark and Sweden more and skip the going back part, since we saw most of it anyway already… so the choice was easy.
Still we did over 1200 km so sports-wise it has been an awesome trip. I lost a lot of weight and Joost def got a tan!
So some nights in foreign countries left, and then back to ol’ flat Dutchie land. Which I miss sooo much. Actually, no.
___________
Last few days we amused ourselves by exploring the city, doing sightseeing, walking, having fun at Josefin’s place, taking pictures, playing toepen (cardgame) and meeting other people too. We also already went to the Dancing Dingo which is an awesome place to have some fun.
So so far def so good, it has been a great experience!
Till the next post!

So far so good!
So far we love the city. We found a couchsurfing address and are staying at Josefine’s place. She’s really nice and her cat is one of the funniest and most active I’ve seen!
Now we are exploring the city a bit, taking lot’s of pictures and stuff.
So that’s it for now, off to the streets of Gothenburg!
SWEDDENNNN
Hungry, bit tired, but sjeez we feel more than fine here! We arrived at Fredrikshavn quite early after ANOTHER flat tyre, but that didn’t stop us and we’re now in Gothenburg. We love it here so far and it seems we found a couchsurf addres! First we’ll eat, then we’ll call her and meet up. It’s a big, busy but lovely city so far.
So that’s it for now lol. See ya!
Update.
Okay we’re now in Brønderslev and we had many hills and kilometers of flat land. The windgods don’t like us at the moment but we’re 44 km away from Fredrikshaven! Nice.
So.. let’s goooo!
Oh and yes it’s true I had to buy a new camera. I bought this one:

Why? Couldnt take pics while driving with my 5DMKII.. with this one I can, Canon.
Anyway off we go!
It’s a miracle
I swear, there is a God! I received a txt from Steven! WHA!
The guys are feeling okay and arrived at… wait. I’m gonna have to read the txt again to know what the place is called cause it’s not a very common name, hehe.
Fjerritslev, that is!
They went to a cycle-maker, I guess because of Stevens bike. It kinda sucks to hear that the bike is ‘giving up on them’ since their bikes are essential for their trip. So, good to know that they have cycle-makers in Fjerritslev! Also, they need good, strong bikes cause the wind is very tough and to make it even better: there are lots of hills.
The txt says that they bought a fotocam. I don’t understand. WHY?! Like Steven hasn’t got enough cams
.
Anyway, more important: they ate pizza! YUM YUM.
They’re gonna sleep in their tent at a well-sheltered parking lot. I hope the wind won’t blow them away.
Bye, xx!

Ehm.
Okay last day we had a really good day. We went all the way to Svankær and it was more than 150 km again. Our total is now over 900 with all the detours and extra km’s that we made.
Right now my bike is at a repair shop for the gears. I’ve lost a total of 4 gears, my 2 highest and lowest so I can’t reach high speeds (my mum will be so happy to hear I only did 45 km7h) but up the hills made me go crazy… I drink lots of water now.
Also I had some more damage that I repaired McGuyver style with some rope, the tube that guides my chain broke. And this was irrepairable so I fixed it some alternative way… it makes a lot of sound but we’re going so Im fine with it.
We camped in a forrest, hidden from the road. It was nice and peaceful!
Today we hope to reach Fjerritslev, we’re now in Thirsted and it’s super hot! Tomorrow we hope to arrive at brønderslev and then the day after Fredrikshaven. I’m tired but we’re almost there.
Thanks for all the replies. Esme: I got a knife so I wont end up in one of those viking graves… haha!
- Us.
We slept in 2 houses for our own.
We changed route again and we are now doing a sea routte.. last evening we arrived at Hvide Sande. I had a flat tyre and it took quite a while to get it fixed.
Then we needed a place to sleep. We passed a schoolyard and they had wooden play houses.
They suited our needs as sleeping location and we both took a wooden sleeping house haha!
